See page 124 for his picture ill. if Af a fd ,ay if Like father like daughter. This backwards cliche seems to fit Kathy Kemby, who has followed in her father's footsteps and received her pilot's license. Although Mr. Kc-mby received his license some time ago, Kathy began flying last summer. Three hours of daily practice paid off, as she received her license in October. Kathy now enjoys flying every weekend that she possibly can and when asked if flying was hard she answered, There is a lot you have to know but I like it. As individuals, Tartans of Glendora High School participated in a number of unusual hobbies both on and off campus. The Bellendaine has spotlighted these nine people for their unique interests which have added their individuality as PEOPLE. 4 Ballet lessons two days, jazz two days, and tap dancing one day, fills a busy week for Jill McDaniel. During Christmas vacation, Jill received a chance to dance as a court dancer in the fabulous Disneyland on Paradef, During an all day audition for the parade, Jill's practicing seemed to pay off, as she was chosen first from hundreds of others. Already with six years of dancing behind her, Jill expressed that Every little girl wants to be a dancer and I liked it so much I stuck with it. Jill's ultimate goal is to someday be a professional dancer. W 4Seven years of Oriental dancing has been an exciting part of David Pating's life. The San Gabriel Valley Chinese Cultural Associa- tion, of which David belongs, has performed the dragon dance, the lion dance, and the art of Kung Fu. A Chinese school has taught David all about his history, lan- guage and superstitious. Every- body has two cultures and I wanted to learn more about mine. David remarks. David has performed with his Chinese cul- tural group at banquets, parades and on the TV show That's Cat . 'NJ Woody Hayes, Yogi Berra, The Rams and Dogers Teams. and Broadway Joe Namath, are all common names to the self-assured Tony Robbins who is now on his way to a career in the sports media. Tony became interested in interviewing people at the age of 13, and now works for the Progress Bul- letin. He is now the youngest sports writer for the newspaper. The People - l27
