The group sponsors parties, and sock dances after games. Fifty points are required for membership and once initiated, 40 poinrs are needed for the following years. lt is a club worthwhile joining, for playdays offer opportunities for developing athletic ability and meeting other people. Nancy Furlong, GAA President, has many a busy day arranging activities at GHS. 22 An organization highly enjoyed by many GHS girls is GAA. They

ettefzmen Get those cotton pickin' whale boats off that gym floor is a well known phrase that is often heard during school hours. When one hears this order,one had better sprout wings,because a mem- ber ofthe mighty Lettermen's club is approaching. Besides policing the gym, the Lettermen engage in other duties such as patroling the halls, parking cars at games and sponsoring the Homecoming Dance. To win any game the players must know they are backed by a group who shares their desire to win. This is the basic aim of the Pep Club, which has made an excellent showing of school spirit at the games. The Pep Club is in line for thanks, too, for doing a swell job toward helping GHS capture the Sportsmanship Trophy. Laughter is the symbol of Judy O'Neil as she leads the Pep Club in many activities. 215
