As her thoughts leave the crrcus she tells us that she now sees Clrfford Smrth drrvrng one of the Mrdget Auto Racers rn Indranapolrs He has never let down hrs great love of the motor and seems to have followed hrs true callrng What does she see comrng rnto vrew but a Shell servrce statron whrch rs owned by Arthur Clayton A new Cadrllac drrves up and who gets out of rt but the famous author Mrss Helen Bates These two have never left Glendale havrng made the mrstake of gettrng therr feet wet rn Cow Creek a sure way to have to stay here We ask Frfr what has happened to Dorothy and she tells us that Mrss Rrchardson rs an elementary teacher rn the Ozarks It seems she had so many surtors she could never decrde on one and has remained unmarrred Frfr tells us that Rrchard Chamber s ambrtron came true and he rs now workrng as a reporter for the New York Trmes In one of hrs artrcles he came up wrth a story about one of hrs classmates Larry H111 who rs an All Amerrcan football player He also wrote an artrc le about the BIG TIME coach of one of the professronal teams who rs Bobby Hale former All Star basketball player of Glendale True to sprrrt of good lournalrsm he rs one of our best sports wrrters He doesn t need to play up the reputatrons of hrs old frrends Larry and Bob because they are tops rn therr sports Lee Mrll lrves rn Reno now and rs the manager of one of that crty s Ford the town s only woman barber We remember her as a grrl whose harr always looked perfect and we can understand how she chose to help others rmprove the looks of therr harr The scene now turns to the Englrsh Channel where Mary jane Smart rs attemptrng to swrm across to the French shore Once before when she trred rt Mary Jane passed out from the extreme cold of the water and had to be pulled up mto the boat The doctor rn attendance was none other than our old school frrend Bob Phrllrps We ask Frfr about the four remarnrng senrors of 1954 She tells us that Ray Burke rs workrng on a cocoanut farm rn South Amerrca It seems Davrd Smrth rs now the prrncrpal of a junror Hrgh rn Los Angeles and that Harold Tanner has been marrred to Sonra Mrller about frve years after becomrng a dentrst The Tanners strll lrve rn the Glendale vrcrnrty and hrs offrce makes rt possrble for students to mrss less school gorng out of town for dental work Last but not least we ask about Betse Sparks Frfx then takes Off her verl and rt turns out that rt rs none other than Betse herself Betse was always so very rnterestel rn her frrends rt was a way to keep up on therr actrvrtres We wrll leave Frfr and the other semors of 1954 and say good bve.
