The play told the story of three convicts who get involved in the lives of a family. Featured actors included Jonathan Keesling, Debbie Jones, MellaDee Meyer, Dan Perez, Scott Shively, Jim Charrette, Mark Carpenter and Stuart Mazzeo. In February a group of performers from the nationally famous Up With People show gave a special performance for GHS students the day before their scheduled performance at the Coliseum. Besides dancing, singing and playing music, members of the troupe were successful in coaxing a number of students to chain dance down from the stadium onto the football field. The performance was so enjoyed by many of the students that some were even ready to audition for parts with the Tucson-based group. K Q ii?" N in 'J N! wr -QE 5 if it 5 X .43 2 ? A seven win, one loss season record was the JV football team's contribution to this year's football blitz of the area. Allowing only six points scored against them in the first four games, the defense proved to be the backbone of the team, shutting out a total of five teams and giving up only 30 points all season. Junior Tim Lee, along with Tim McCarthy, Ruben Mercardo, David Hugh and John Medina, led the defense. Offensively, led by Ted Barry, Mitch McClurg and Sonny Dodson. the team racked up scores like 56-O against Horizon and a phenomenal 600 against North. The key to their successful season, according to head coach Tom Hernandez, was that "Each and every player knew what he had to do and saw that the work got done," adding that both he and Coach Threadgill were "extremely pleased" with the team's season.
