Both lzabella and Sergio are here with an organization that allows high school students to go to another country for a year of school. Both students enjoy Arizona and feel the people here are friendly and very helpful. lzabella Pieniazek or Bella as she is called, is from Sweden. Here at Glendale she is involved in chorus, Lyres Club, flag corps, volleyball, and the ishbeck organization. She says she is really happy to be in the marching band. Performing with that group is new and interesting because there aren't things like that in Sweden.

In Sweden students have weekly schedules and there is homework almost every night. Bella's last year there, she had 17 required subjects. On the prospect of leaving Glendale to return home this summer, Bella says, l've made many friends, who will be hard to leave. Sergio Vergare is 16 years old and is here from Santiago, Chile. He enrolled here at the beginning of second semester. His favorite sport is skiing. ln Chile the students must wear uniforms everyday. Another difference is the teachers go to your class instead of the students moving from class to class. Chile also has different subjects everyday and the hours are also different.
