MR. VICTOR E. LOWMAN Principal There has been talk about tradition within a school during this past year. If a nation or school is to grow and prosper, it must be ready to meet the competition it must overcome to be successful. Competition for places of employment, or for ad- missions to colleges is becoming greater for students with each succeeding year. If this school or any school is to prepare their students to meet this competition, more efficient use of the time in school must be accomplished. The activities which have no real connection with the educational .program but have crept into the school for tradition or esprit de corps reasons, must give way to better provide this time for greater growth in the educational program. The best traditions a school can develop is a reputation-by action of its students-of the willingness to sacrifice to attain the best possible performance in all phases of the school life, in the classrooms as well as in the activity program. This school has and is building this reputation, and I sincerely hope that the desire to excel will continue to dominate at Glendale High School. Principals. Ufuersee Campus Affairs Modem schools offer the opportunity for students to participate in many beneficial activities in addition to the regular academic classes. Among these are the musical, dramatic, athletic and club activities. These activities offer students wonderful opportunities for developing many traits' and values not always attain- able in the classroom situation. A high percentage of Glendale High School stu- dents have availed themselves of these opportunities and are to be congratulated for their many fine contributions to our school. MR. ROBERT P. CHRISTENSEN Vice Principal
