rn m The musical Gamclat that has endured so many years on stage, and as a movie, became one of the most popular musicals to be presented on GCC campus. On April 4 and 5th, the Opera Workshop, under the direction of Mary Ann Dutton, presented Hamclat. It gave the audience a chance to visit a land of enchant- ment reigned over by King Ar- thur and Queen Genevere. 6'amel0l presented a contrast between good and evil and the assurance that evil forces shall not prevail. Some of the high- lights of the play were: the haunting voice of Nimue, the vivacity and color of the Lusty Month of May sequence, and the moment of Lionel's return to life through La ncelot's efforts. Mr. Lee Baxter led the instru- mentation portion of Gfamelot Us- ing the Dance Band as the nu- cleus of the orchestra, two pro- fessional musicians from the Star Theater supplemented the Band to fit the needs of the pro- duction. Spontaneous applause met every scene ending. The use of environmental- theater created an effective staging technique.
