First semester A.S. officers Associated Students' organiza- tion is offered to students who are interested in learning more about campus government and how it operates. Four elective officers are chosen in the general elections held at appointed times through the year. Fifteen positions for commissionerships are also available. Throughout the year, A.S. spon- sor a number of Friday evening dances, with sounds coming from the big bands around the Valley. The '67-68 Associated Students set the pace for future Homecom- ing festivities. With the distinction as GCC campus Homecoming originators, the details and plan- ning they worked out will help guide future students and set trad- itional patterns. In reaction to student requests, A.S. reinstalled a juke box in the Grill Room to aid the student in relaxing. Eventually, A.S. hopes to expand the present program of student activities and services. .3 'KL Jane Calhoun, secretary, Linda Leonard, treasurer, John Spencer, vice president, Ron Brambila.
