Since this was new to the cheerleaders, they enjoyed themselves much and had a good fall and winter sea- son, according to Mr. Hector Carabez, sponsor. Since so many freshmen tried out, it was impossible to choose only 25 girls, therefore, two squads had to be developed in order to accommodate all the girls. Also contributing to spirit raising were Boosters and Pep Club. Prior to this year, spon- sor Mama Glass changed the i'Boosters to the Pep Club because she felt it fit the group better. Now that the number of students wanting to partici- pate in the club has increased, we now have a Boosters and a Pep Club, according to Glass. These groups usually came to- gether during athletic events but did appear occasionally at social gatherings.
