Musical skills displayed by clubs The Jazz Band, directed by Mr. Peter Pappas, consisted of 25 members. They played for the variety show and sponsored the North Shore Jazz Festival. In addition, they also compet- ed in the Mundelein High School Jazz Contest and the Brookfield High School Jazz Festival. One of their biggest events was the Jazz Night they put on with Glenbrook North, featuring the jazz band from Northwestern University. The members are selected by audi- tions of their musical ability. The Orchestra, which was directed by Mr. Carl Meyer, consisted of 24 students. They performed a winter and spring concert and also combined their talents with junior high students from Maple and Springman for a concert. In the beginning of March, the Orchestra took a five-day trip to Minnesota to perform and also hear other orchestras play. Along with these concerts there was also the District Or- chestra, which was a combina- tion of students from Glen- brook North and South.
