Vloney aids class activities 'One of the main goals of the eshman, sophomore and ju- or class boards was to raise loney for the Prom, which id to be paid for in the spring 'junior year. Freshmen, only beginning le quest for money, had but- tn sales, bake sales, pennant -les, and other fundraisers. pphomores had a car wash, lpcorn sale, button sale, and imerous candy sales. The Junior Class, whose primary function was produc- ing Prom had about the widest variety of sales of any club in the schoool, according to presi- dent Harry Gottlieb. Our suc- cesses balanced our failures fin fundraisingl. I found that easy sellers are better than big things. In the Bonanza, we had fantasies of a huge response, but the school didn't work as hard as we had hoped they would,', he explained. In the Bonanza, students competed for prizes by selling Seiko watches, Aloe-Vera products, and Christmas tree ornaments. They also sold candy, ice cream, duffel bags, and key chains. Other activities sponsored by the class boards were the Homecoming float construc- tion and the first annual holi- day dance. In float construc- tion juniors were disqualified because they did not finish the float by the midnight deadline. Sophomores placed first and freshmen, second. The dance entitled Under the Mistle- toe, was a combination showf dance. There were two bands, games, and door prizes. Harry Gottlieb informs the Junior Class Board of what is happening in the future. Junior Donna Shim works hard to fin- ish the Junior Class l'loat. Underclass Class Boardsf49
