With time to spare, the gang converses with each other at the Shamrock Cafe, the local hangout. Mrs. Weldy lLynn Schwartzenbergj inquires about her son Buford, hidden behind the gang tJoe Vagher, Paul Margolis, Fernando Molina, Ted Freitag, Darin Greenblatt, and Larry Bluestonej. Bernardine brings back 50's Fall play goes back in timeg to days of poodle College frats, bermuda shorts, and ROTC were back in style on Dec. 10-12, for the annual fall play. Directed by Mr. Douglas Kornelly, the play Bernardine was presented by GBS ac- tors. This was the first play we've revised here at GBS. I first directed it in 1972, and some of the members of the original cast came back to observe this play, said Kornel- ly. Bernardine takes place in the 1950,s in a town called Sneaky Falls, Idaho. It deals with the problems and joys of teenagers growing up in the 50's, commented Kornel- ly. The main characters were portrayed by Jo- seph Vagher CArthur Beaumontj, Darin Greenblatt fLeonard Carneyj, Laura Novak fMeredith Russell CEnid Lacyj, Mike Santos fWi1l McElroyJ, Ted Freitag fMorgan Ol- senj, Vince Pusaterifjeff Puleo CDave Gibbsj, Lynn Schwartzenberg CRuth Weldyj, 34f Bernardine skirts, rock 'n roll Steve GenovesefVictor Cohen QBuford Weldyj, Peggy Frazerfjoyce Peterson Uean Cantrickj and Colleen ConnaughtonfSte- phanie Cotell QSelma Cantrickj. Assistant di- rector ofthe production was Mrs. Gael Rou- tenberg, and technical director was Mr. Richard Winship. It was a lot of fun trying to go back to the 50's, said Vagher. He also commented that We had a big audience compared to past fall playsf' Kornelly concluded, I was really pleased with the play's success in paying tributes to Mary Chase, Pulitzer Prize winner. A lot of people learned a lot about people and art. The play gives a number of multi-dimension- al roles that actors can create.
