Freshmen girls perform We'd Like to Thank You Herbert Hoover, from the musical Annie, as part of the Vari- ety Show. ln conjunction with the Valentine's Day celebration, Student Council sec- retary B. J. Babiarz sorts flowers to be delivered on Carnation Day. uccess lies in 'one' big effort Determination, guts pay off as South learns its full potential Another year gone but not forgotten. Although there are some things one would just as soon forget, there are also those moments worth remembering. Every person was just one in a multitude of many who helped pull the school together as Hone. The canned food drive, for instance, was perhaps the school's most united effort during the whole year, and the results were staggering. Out of approximately 2,300 students and faculty combined, South turned up a whopping 13,042 cans, over five times the number of people at GBS. Another event brought nearly 200 students together for one thing-the fifteenth annual variety show, A Hero is More Than a Sandwich. Glenbrook South demonstrated throughout the year that it has the power to join together as one, or, to paraphrase the V-Show theme, that Glenbrook South is More Than a Schoolf' Conway, the Science Department's parrot, perches atop the shoulder of frosh Julie Popiolek. 274fClosing

Whether it was just one person, or a whole s , team, each one was determined to give their top s t performance. Glenbrook South was made up of individuals whogave of themselves and strived to do their personal f r best. They all came together as one, which allows each W ' person to remember the year and realize that We Were . the One! Z76,fClosing Peer Group and Variety Show were two activities that brought kids together outside of the classroom. Through a group activity, Peer Group members Jackie Roccosanto, Jean Gilbertson, Judy Gt-bert, and Mike McPhilliamy tabovel learn to combine work, socializing, and cooperation, as senior Jim VanZant and frosh Missy Knupp trightl did in their Variety Show skit depicting commercials. wa' .e nw t. ww .pw
