GBS turns out 20 years' worth of champs Throughout a season, an athlete or team strives for a berth in the state meet. Much training and dedication is nec- essary for one to achieve this goal. Since it would be impossible to acknowledge all the state qualifiers, district and confer- ence placers, and all-confer- ence achievers in the history of GBS, Etruscan has listed the state champions and all-state individuals. The state champi- ons were determined by first place finishes in sports that have individual placers, and the all-state individuals were determined by persons selected for this award on team sports. GBS has been the home of many excellent athletes for many years, but only 14 of them have ever won state awards in the last 20 years.
