Varisty compiles 13-13 Mark The girls' basketball team has made a lot of progress this year, according to varsity coach Don Rabeor. This year's team consisted of a lot of younger girls. Also, Rabeor contended, We've been per- plexed with a tough schedule. Nine of are loses were against teams in the top 15 in the state. The varsity team record was l3-13. Their conference record consisted of six wins and four losses. The five starting players were Barb Gratz, Jackie Tracy Thomas advances the ball up the court without defensive pressure. Monckton, Michele Hartman, Chris Ney, and Kristen Van- Cleave. Rabeor concluded, The girls play good basketball. If there was one thing I could change I would increase school support of the team. Not enough people go to watch the games! The JV girls had a record of 4-16 and had a conference re- cord of 2-8. Coach John Ad- With a conference record of 7-0 the freshmen girls finished their season with a l4-5 record. year to show they can play de- cent ball. With a conference record of 3-7 the freshmen girls finished their season with a 9-8 record. The girls with the four best re- cords for shooting were Amy Cozad, Joanne Burckart, Pam Johnson, Julie Reisnener. Coach Robert Schoenwetter thought this team was one of the best in recent history at GBS. I think, Schoenwetter stated, It's safe to say they're the most talented squad we've ever had. They've worked real hard and blended their talents well as there record shows. They will definitely leave their mark at GBS.
