9 New 'super takes over top spot to guide future of District 225 Most students don't look be- yond textbooks, classrooms, and teachers when it comes to school. There is, however, more to school than just that. For instance, who is it that plans the organization of the curriculum? The answer is Dis- trict 225 Superintendent Dr. Jean McGrew. McGrew came to Glenview Dr. Jean B. McGrew District 225 Superintendent as superintendent of District 225 from East Grand Rapids, Mich., where he had held the same position. He made the de- cision to take the job here be- cause he looked upon the Glen- brook district as a vibrant and alive area. I started my career here in this area, and I've always had a desire to come back, com- mented McGrew. Among his duties is the re- sponsibility for hiring people, determining what textbooks are to be used, and handling finances. This means many long hours, but there are also rewarding aspects of McGrew,s job. I enjoy seeing things take place and develop. It's almost like watching a tree grow from just a seed, he stated. McGrew has a variety of goals he would like to accom- plish as superintendent. He would like to take a mixture of talents already at GBS and develop an outstanding school program.
