When President Carter announced that the US, would boycott the Olym- pics in 1980, l was mad, since I know what it's like to practice and then find out you can't go. Carter had no right to deny these hard-working athletes the right to participate. Politics and sports should not bc put together ever! What was your biggest accom- plishment at CBS? Profile: Meredith Russell 'People are more ma terialistic' How has Glenbrook A South changed since you were a fresh- man? The people have become more mate- rialistic. lt has become ridiculously important to be seen with the right people and to go to the right parties. What aspect of South will you miss the least? Rushing to class after gym, jogging down the hall while dressing is a very unpleasant experience. What was your biggest accom- plishment in high school? 1 was awarded a blue ribbon in the Scholastic Art Show in'Evanston sophomore year, and l was in the '81 fall play Bernardine. which was enjoyable. Russell assumed the lead role of Enid Lacey in the fall play Berna- dine.
