Leigh Richards Starting the new year off with an outstanding Sweepstakes victory at National City and brand new uni- forms, the 78-79 Wildcat Band placed high in all attending competi- tions. After placing lst at Claremont and obtaining a Sweepstakes at West Covina, the band attended Chaffey Tournament of Champs where they competed with the best receiving a third place. The band's fame was further enticed by being invited to participate in the 1979 Rose Parade, where everything indeed came up ROSES. i,A,1'f'1 I CLUBS 37

Janice Meighan and Carmen Martinez get ready to go home after a T0 GLORY The fabulous Wilson Band-aids have attended many competitions such as. the Tournament of Champions in which they placed second. and Covina Chaffey, Los Altos and Cit- rus halftime competitions they took Sweepstakes. With the help of-Marilyn Sneider their new instructor they are now one of the top flag's teams. The flags will be competing at Saddleback, Arroyo and State Competitions as Colorguards. Their biggest honor was to join the band on New Years Day at the Rose Parade. Overall the Bandaids are very pleased with their accomplishments. 'MPA A Znd Lieutenant: Toni Melendez.
