B TI TOSEAS N BF The ener getic girls softball team started their season with 1gh hopes of winning the title of Sierra League Champs, and because of the great turnout of many talented girls their coaches were just as optimistic. Try-outs were held Feb. 27 after 2 wks. of practice. Although the decision was tough, Miss Graves and Miss Shaw chose 16 girls for Varsity and 13 for .l.V. These girls were required to devote IW hrs. of their time every day after school, to strenuous workouts, but then practice makes perfect. Their first scrimmage was victorious over Workman and their first game was played March 7, at home against the thieving West Covinians. Even though Varsity lost their game, they didn't let it diminish their dream. SOFTBALL 113 la
