The captains for this year's Varsity team were Diane Reneau and Lisa Morgan. All the girls wish to return to the team next year. Varsity team will be losing one girl due to graduation, Diane Reeneau according to coach Robbie Martin the team improved tremendously from last year. S. Dean, D. Myslicki, K. Hoffer, I. Douglas, D. ' - ,: . f - - A , ' ary.- - . 4. 3,11-' Jill Ann Sterkel, a senior at Glen A. Wilson High - She has competed in numerous swimming competitions. The most important and honoring was the 1976 summer Olympics games in Montreal, Canada. There, she swam the 3rd leg in the wornan's 400 meter free style relay for the United States. The American team was behind until Jill hit the water. This is where the US. relay swim team pulled ahead and captured the only gold medal won by the woman's swim team with a world record time of 3:44-.48. Jill also has been in many other competitions including the Pan American games in my ?sgwf5h.M -v ,aw J L.-'.1a:ii3!:i- ' 1975 in Mexico. There she swam in the 100 meter free style placing 2nd and the 400 meter free style relay plac- ing 1st. In 1978 she participated in the World Games held in West Germany. There she swam once again in the 400 meter free style relay breaking the existing world record with outstanding time of 343.4-3. Jill Sterkel,s goal is to qualify for the U.S. Olympic team held in Moscow, U.S.S.R. in 1980. R THE BEST The Girls' J.V. basketball team has tried very hard this year to acquire perfection and it seems it paid off, the girls won almost all their games.
