f-fOMi Coti ty The Honor Society is the most fruitful attempt in developing service, leadership, and character in our high school students. Only those sophomores, juniors and seniors who have maintained high standards of scholarship for at least four consecutive marking-periods are qualified. In addition to this, the student must also be of good moral character and have participated in at least two school activities. One of the highlights of the Honor Society program this year was the initiation ceremony. It was rather a new method of initiating new members and was quite successful. Not only did students being initiated participate, but also the parents who attended, and the Glen Cove Glee Club. The Honor Society hopes to continue the initiation ceremony as well as to further other new activities. Such proposals are not as far from realization as it seems, in view of the active part in school affairs that the Honor Society is beginning to assume. 18
