VARSITY FOOTBALL Again this year the Glen Cove High School Varsity team, coached by Mr. Donald and Mr. Butz, won the N.S.A.L. Division Two championship. The Covers, led by co-captains Bob Kormoski, Pete Mickens, and Joel Sandler, and with the able help of speedy Oscar Steadman, rolled up an impressive undefeated record with one tie. The high point of the season was reached on October 29th when the Covers met a strong Clarke High School team, and, in a tight battle, won, 19—7. The victory gave the team the League Championship for the second year in a row. When the season came to a close, the Covers had increased their unbeaten streak to fourteen games, and hopes were high in anticipation of another outstanding squad next year.
