Catcher J. Silva orders the fast one down the middle to confound Garden City batter. Why not use the twilight to good advantage? w Fisher, game with Great Neck, uses ballet technique to reach bag before ball. The Diamond Led by their coach, Mr. Lamberson, and by their All Scholastic pitcher, Harry Rapelje, Glen Cove's Baseball teams set out upon another season of diamond antics. Their season, although not blessed with a winning record, was considered successful. This was because we held victories over St. Mary's, Great Neck, Garden City, and Port Washington, all old time rivals. The Covers spirit and fine sense of fair play, gave our school a fine reputation for sportsmanship and athletic ability throughout Nassau County. We can look forward to successful teams in the future because our J. Vees showed the fighting spirit and winning ability which is typical of Glen Cove High School Baseball teams. W. Johansen loses hat in vain attempt to avert putout in Great Neck game. 27

This year, the team's record over-shadowed those of our football and soccer teams—a fact of no little importance since it brings Glen Cove into view as a possible champion in at least one sport.
