Girls lntra murals Spirit, co-operation, and zip were the attrib- utes of an under-dog Sophomore team that beat the Seniors in the intramural basketball games this fall. Anything can happen at these after-school volleyball and basketball games. Not only do the girls play ball, but they also serve as referees, and timekeepers. These were boosted even higher when the boys smashed mighty Bethpage's two year streak. Alas, however, as the end of the season descended upon us, we found ourselves at the smaller end of a 3-5 record. With only a few exceptions, Glen Cove's losses were a matter of a yard, a point, or a minute. Losing to Port, our traditional rival, was the bitterest pill for Glen Cove to swallow, even though the score was but a scant 6-O. Although the overall record for the season was not overwhelming, the team produced many pleasant thrills as the track and fieldmen strained for that last fraction of an inch. Mr. Butz took the honors for his A-I coaching iob.
