FOREWORD We, the class of 1954, proudly present the PROFILE, symbol of our years in high school. As the hive is the center of activity for bees so has Glen Cove High School been the center of our lives. Here we have progressed along the path that leads from adolescence to adulthood. Like the bees we have had our workers, drones, and Queens. Through the co-operation of all we have built up a host of memories to cherish throughout life, and we have gained the most valuable possession on earth, an education. To remind us of our teachers, classes, dances, clubs, sports, and all our other undertakings we will have the esteemed object of every senior, the pictorial review of our high school years, the PROFILE. In contrast to the bee hive which is closed to outsiders, the doors of our school stand open for all who wish to enter and learn. Within are the tools used to build a happy life, knowledge and friendship. We, who have had access to these powers, wish to show here what we have achieved with them.
