ANTHONY GIAMBRUNO That man's silence is wonderful to listen to. —Thomas Hardy. Anthony belongs to the more quiet element of the High School. He is a good student, being very conscientious in his schoolwork. However, he enjoys sports and is a fine sportsman. His numerous friends recognize him as a true all round, good fellow. Activities: Track Team 4. ERIC GORANSON Smooth runs the water where the brook is deep. —Shakespeare. Eric is the possesor of a quiet determination and an air of complete self-reliance. His school spirit has been shown by his loyal service as Manager of the football team for two years. Eric plans to enter into the field of journalism after graduation and we're sure he'll be successful in this undertaking. Activities: Football 2, 3; Glider Club 2; Spanish Club 2, 3; Latin Club 1. LAUREL GILBERT God, match me with a good dancer. —Shakespeare. Dark, loquacious Laurel is one of those people who are always on the go . She is particularly interested in dancing and has a large repertoire, including everything from tap to Spanish dancing. She plans to follow through with this talent of hers and should like to enter the theatrical field. Activities: Glee Club 1, 2, 3, 4; Latin Club 1, 2; Tattler 4; Masquers 1, 2, 3, 4; Commercial Club 3, 4. STANLEY GOSHEFSKI He was a very perfect, gentle knight. —Chaucer. Stanley is that Senior who is easy to get along with because of his amicable nature and reticent ways. His friendly personality has gained him many true friends. After gradu-tion Stanley would like to attend a General Motors Training School where his ambition and character should make him successful. Activities: Baseball 4; Glider Club 3. BERNARD GLICKMAN Ah, you flavor everything; you are the vanilla of society. —Sydney Smith. When Bernard comes into view, everyone prepares himself for a jolly time, for Bemie has long been our favorite comedian. Of course he has his serious side, too. Being well-read, he is always able to enter, with great interest and fervor, any discussion of a serious nature. Thus, a well-rounded personality is our Bernard's. Activities: Masquers 3, 4; Tattler 3, 4; Alpha 3, 4; Track Manager 1, 2; Spanish Club 2, 3, 4. ROSEANN GRAZIOSI And, for the most, become much more the better For being a little bad. —William Shakespeare. Vivacious, loquacious Roseann is always in the center of everything that goes on. Despite this activity, she has kept up her studies—a fact which has endeared her to her teachers. It's difficult, to say the least, not to like this dark haired senior with her many charming and heart-warming gestures, and everyone who knows her is proud to claim her as a friend. JACQUELINE FORD Happy am I; from care I'm free! Why aren't they all contented like me.'' —Opera of La Sonnambula. Jackie's popularity with her classmates runs very high, and this cute little Senior is a sure cure when one is feeling low. Taking photographs of her many friends is her pet hobby. Jackie hopes to enter the secretarial field after being graduated from Glen Cove High School. Activities: Masquers 3, 4; Latin Club 2; Spanish Club 3, 4. MARY FORRESTER Softness and sweetest innocence she wears. —Rowe. Mary is that sincere, quiet type that hears all, sees all, and says something once in a while. Mixed with her quiet ways is her grand sense of humor which makes her a welcome friend. Her silence is but the perfectest herald of joy. Activities: Commercial Club 3, 4. RUSSELL GAMBINO Those who want fewest things are nearest to the Gods. —Socrates. Russ is a lover of the great outdoors; and if you should suddenly go calling cm him, he would probably be found with gun in hand, wandering in the woods near his house, bent on doing some sharp shooting which he claims is his greatest pleasure in life. Quiet and studious, but an allround person is Russ. Activities: Baseball 3; Track 3. GRACE FULLER Grace shaped her limbs, and beauty deck'd her face. —Prior. Grace is the tall, beauteous brunette whose hobby is collecting friends. This is not difficult for her, since she possesses a glowing disposition and is an ardent participant of many social functions and sports. She intends to study nursing at Adelphi. Activities: Library Club 2, 3, 4; Color Guard 4; Orchestra 1, 2, 3; Latin Club 2, 3; Home Room Secretary 2; Band 1, 2, 3, 4; French Club 4; PROFILE 4; Interclass Basketball 1. 2, 3, 4. FRANK GABRUS He had then the grace, too rare in every clime. Of being—a finish'd gentleman from top to toe. —Byron. Frank is a quiet boy, well-mannered and pleasant to know. Frank is both studious and a regular fellow , a rare combination. He always has his pleasant grin ready for those he greets. After graduation, Frank plans to go in for accounting. Gil's twinkling eyes and sparkling smile are her chief claims to fame, as are her intelligence and diligence in school work. Popular with every one, Gil never fails to have a smile and friendly word ready for every one she meets, and this more than anything else is responsible for her being so much in demand. HARRIET GREENBERG She possessed a peculiar talent of producing effect in whatever she said or did. —-Tacitus. What Harriet lacks in height she certainly owns in talent. One of her amusing poems is enough to convince you of her ability. A diligent worker, she is tops in both scholastic and extracurricular activities. Surely, the future holds many illustrious years for her. If there's nothing funny to laugh at, then he'll create an amusing situation. Although to strangers he may appear quiet, his friends will declare that he can well be the life of any party. Activities: Art Club 4. DOROTHY GRIEVE Thou hast the right arched beauty of the brow. —Shakespeare. Cute and pert—that's Dot Grieve. Ding , as her friends call her, is an all-around Senior who enjoys going to parties and having a good time. She is also keen at dancing, and although she likes all sports, she prefers horse-back riding. Looking into the crystal ball a happy and full life is seen for versatile Dot. Activities: Softball 2, 3. JUNE HAGSTROM A lovely being, scarcely formed or moulded, A rose with all its sweetest leaves yet unfolded. —Lord Byran. June's faithful service to Glen Cove High can easily be seen by glancing through her long list of activities. Though small in stature, June has proven her ability in big ways and this year has the responsible task of editing The Tattler . Besides a pleasing personality, June possesses a scholastic record that is just tops. RUTH HALPERN There is no wisdom like frankness. —Disraeli. Chickie can keep a group amused for hours with her gay chattering. Yet, underneath this happy-go-lucky exterior is found a person who works hard in any task she may undertake. Ruth is a lover of fine music, and she herself plays the piano. She dreams of being a concert pianist someday. However, she is doing more than just dreaming. She is studying to make that dream come true.
