Nancy with the smiling face is a perfect way of describing this dark and attractive young lady, for her sun-shiny smile is guaranteed to make a January day seem like June. Extremely sports-minded she has always taken an active part in the High School sports, whether it be cheering or actual participation, which incidently, she prefers. Activities: Masquers 3, 4; Spanish Club 3, 4; Drum Majorette 2; Library Club 3, 4. ELISE CONOLOGUE Our youth we can have but to-day. —Berkeley. Elise's happy smile and merry wit mark her as a very jovial person and a go6d companion. As can be expected, her friends are numerous, and they have the greatest admiration for her. She has decided upon a nursing career and is working hard to achieve this aim. Activities: Spanish Club 3, 4; Photography Club 1. FRANK CHRISTOFANO 'The secret of success is constancy to purpose. —Disraeli. Tall, popular, and a regular guy” are three apt descriptions of Bucky . His interest in sports, especially basketball, has been proved by the fine games he played in behalf of our school. His fine sportsmanship has been recognized and appreciated by every student, and we all wish him the best of luck in fulfilling his life's ambitions. Activities: Basketball 1, 2, 4; Glee Club 1, 2; Baseball 2, 4. MURRAY COOPER A merrier man, Within the limits of becoming mirth, I never spent an hours talk withal. —William Shakespeare. Murray, one of the youngest members of the class of '47, will long be remembered by his classmates for his droll wit and the fine way in which for four years he has written up the school sports in his famous and illegible scrawl. Possessed with a wide gTin, a happy-go-lucky nature and a brilliant intellect, he has left a mark which everyone may well try to equal. Activities: Latin Club 1; Spanish Club 2, 3, 4; Tattler 2, 3, 4; Soccer Manager 4; PROFILE 3 ,4 (Sports Editor 4). HELENE COHEN Her hair in ringlets rather dark than fair. —Prior. Bubbles is a very apt name for this Senior, since one will never fail to find her simply bubbling over with vim, vigor, and vitality. A fun-loving person with a vitally alive personality, she is the life of any group; and given the opportunity, she is sure to keep things moving at a merry pace. Activities: Latin Club 1, 2. FLORENCE COTRONEO Her voice, the music of the spheres. —Butler. Flo has been an outstanding member of our Glee Club because of her rich alto voice. She has a cheerful personality and a great deal of pep which has made her a very popular girl. His taciturnity and friendly manner are two of his most outstanding attributes; and since personality is considered essential to success, Frank has already started well on the right road. Activities: Spanish Club 2, 3; Football 3. MARY CASSIMATXS So well to know Her own, that what she wills to say Seems wisest, virtuousest, discreetest, best. —Milton. Mary seldom speaks except to utter words of wisdom, and her opinion is truly one to be respected. She possesses a cheerful disposition and is always ready to lend a helping hand. Greatly interested in music, Mary has contributed much to the success of our Glee Club. Bessie is a quiet, modest miss whose many friends will tell you that she is just loaded down with talent, though it is not commonly known. She has a singing voice which is a combination of Hoagy Carmichael, Virginia O'Brien and plenty of just plain Bessie, who herself adds the necessary spice to an altogether sweet nature. Activitties: Glee Club 1, 2, 4; Commercial Club 4; Secretary 4; Transcription PROFILE 4. LOUIS CAVESE No one knows what he can do till he tries. —Publius. Looie has been particularly well known for his mischievous adventures and the way in which he can turn a dull moment into a time of laughter. However, he is one who seldom speaks except when there is something worthwhile to say. Good luck, Lou. DANIEL CASEY No blithe Irish lad was so happy as I. —Jane Campbell. Since his Sophomore year, when he came to Glen Cove from Locust Valley, Dan has made many friends with his engaging smile and his easy, unhurried manner. Although he is active in many sports, football is his favorite; and Dan played with all his might for the Red and Green. Activities: Football 2, 3, 4; Track Team 3, 4; Interclass Basketball 2, 3, 4; Tnterclass Baseball 2, 3, 4; Tattler 4. JOHN CHEBUSKE Oh, he sits high in all people's hearts. A person with fine manners and a pleasant sense of humor is one way of describing Johnny. An allround Fella with a quick and friendly smile is another. WILLIAM CULLUM The fellers call me Bill! —Eugene Field. One of the famous Valley boys , Cullum was quick to win a place on our football squad. Playing first at back, and later at end during his Senior year. Bill displayed his keenness for the game. Always ready for action, he has been an eager participant in all the school's sports. Activities: Football 2, 3, 4; Basketball 2; Track 4; Interclass Baseball 2, 3, 4; Interclass Basketball 3, 4; Tattler 4. ROSE DAMBRINI A merry heart goes all the day. A sad tires in a mile. —Shakespeare. This Rose has indeed been well-cultivated; she is a pleasant combination of beauty and intelligence. Together with this, she is one of the most friendly girls in the Senior Class in her unique, sincere, and quiet manner. This Rose, no doubt, will always bloom with personality. Activities: Commercial Club 4; Photography Club 4. ROBERT CURIANO To those who know thee not, no words can paint! To those who know thee, know all words are faint! —Hannah More. It wouldn't be any exaggeration to say that almost everyone within these halls knows and likes Bobby. Through his excellent ball-handling on both the court and diamond and through his musical ability, he has come to the fore in the school's activities. Because of his outstanding personality. he is foremost in the affection of his friends. Care will kill a cat and therefore let's be merry. —Wither. Joanne is one of the live-wires of the Senior Class. A genial disposition and a fine personality make her admired by all. She's always on the go and can usually see the amusing side of any situation, as can be judged by her memorable times in Miss Brandhorst's classes. Activities: Latin Club 2, 3, 4; Glee Club 2; Spanish Club 2, 3, 4. CHARLES DAILEY Talk to him of Jacob's ladder, and he would ask the number of steps. —Jerrold. Besides being a conscientious helper to his class, Chaz has certainly shown plenty of resourcefulness in his studies. He has a keen mind for unravelling technical problems, as can be seen by his progress in mathematics. His classmates admire him not only for his words of wisdom and ability to see all the whys and wherefores , but also for his fine character and enjoyable sense of humor. And pleasant, too, to think on. —Brennoratt. Marjorie is gifted with a great personality and a friendly manner. She came from a little town in Ohio, to Glen Cove, in 1945, and since then has become very popular among the students. All sports are appealing to her although she prefers basketball. Margie, an active Masquers member, is also interested in dramatics.
