MARY LUPINSKI Quiet and well mannered Mary is a girl with a heart of gold. She is enrolled in a general course and lists her favorite subject as history. Although she was not in many activities in school, she is very active outside of school and enjoys swimming and bowling. After graduation, Mary intends to be a telephone operator. FRANK MACEDONIO Activities: Band 1, 2, 3, 4; Orchestra 2, 3; Inter-class Basketball 4. One of our shortest and liveliest Seniors, Frank is a welcome addition to any gathering. Dancipg and developing snapshots are his favorite pastimes while football and basketball are his favorite sports. Frank hopes to be a bookkeeper and accountant when he finishes school. He certainly will succeed in this held with his wonderful ability to master math. JOSEPHINE MACEDONIO Activities: Safety Council 1; Glee Club 1, 2, 3; Spanish Club 3, 4. “Jo” as she is usually called, is one of our shortest seniors. She is soft-spoken and well liked by all of her fellow students. Dancing and swimming and singing are among her favorite hobbies. Jo has decided to become a typist at the close of her Senior year. THIRJANE LUCHIE Thirjane is a very sociable and cheerful girl who makes many friends wherever she goes. Her chief hobby lies in the field of sewing, which she does extremely well, and her chief enjoyment takes place at basketball and football games. Since sports tend to stimulate coordination and alertness, we know that “Snooky” will do well in a field which requires alertness—typing! ALEX McLENNON Activities: Football 4; Baseball 4. Alex, a well dressed and well mannered Senior, is a contribution from Locust Valley, and a well appreciated one. Voted the tallest boy in the class, A1 has naturally acquired that casual look which most high school boys strive for. He has a slow, easy going walk, but his wit, like his smile, is quick and frequently observed. A1 also holds his own on the dance floor and it is rumored that he is an oftcn-sought-after escort. 27

PEARL KUROWSKI Activities: Art Club; French Club; Profile Staff 4; Basketball Team. Interesting and attractive, Pearl is a popular girl with a merry and genial personality. She is always well dressed and well-mannered, and her high school work shows her to be a diligent student. Pearl is a good friend to everyone and with her pleasant character she has proved that she will be successful in whatever she plans to undertake. MILDRED LUCHIE Activities: Glee Club 1, 2, 3, 4. Mildred’s sincerity and honesty have made her well liked by everyone. She is deeply'interested in the problems of people and consequently has a great desire to do something helpful to foster better living among mankind. She has decided that nursing is an excellent outlet for her desires. We know that she will do well in her chosen profession. EVELYN LARSEN Activities: Band (Drum Majorette) ; Glee Club 2, 3, 4, President 4; Spanish Club 2, 3, Secretary 2; Safety Council 4; Tattler 4; Literary Staff, Profilf. 4; Commercial Club 2. Evelyn, our lovely blonde-haired Senior, i6 exceedingly popular. She is engaged in nearly all school activities and can always be seen with the band as head drum majorette. Despite all her activities, Evelyn still finds time for school work and is a good student. Enrolled in the Commercial course, she intends to be a secretary. REGINA LEHMANN Activities: Cheerleading 2, 3, 4; Captain Cheerleaders 4; Senior Play 4. Happy-go-lucky is Jean—Captain of our fine Cheerleading Squad! Bubbling over with vim and vigor, Jean always shows excellent performance in leading the cheering section at all sports events. Petite, blonde, and cute, she is one of the most popular girls in the Senior class. Her magnetic personality and friendly manner will always be remembered. Jean’s - spare time is taken up with thinking up new cheers and dancing. She’s a grand girl to know. CECELIA LESLIE Activities: Photography Club 3, 4; Art Club 3; Commercial Club 4. “Celie” is that cute little girl who came to us from Brooklyn. Although she hasn’t been with us very long, her cheery smile and easy manner have enabled her to make friends quickly. Very much interested in art, Celie would like to do something connected with it when she graduates from high school. 26

MARY MAGNUSSON Activities: Glee Club 2, 3: Commercial Club 2, 3, 4; Art Club 1. A happy-go-lurky air and a gay nonchalant personality characterize Mary. With a witty sense of humor she is always ready for fun and knows how to have plenty of it. Mary enjoys swimming, skating and art work. Although she is not certain yet as to her career, it probably will be centered upon her artistic ability. DORIS MARTINO Activities: Glee Club 1; Commercial Club 4; Photography Club 4. Peppy and popular, Doris is well liked by all who know her and her cheery smile and giggle are always welcomed. Like most other girls her age, Doris enjoys swimming, dancing, and skating. She has a particular interest in making her own clothes and you can well see why she is one of the best dressed girls in the Senior class. Moody people are her chief dislike. Doris hopes to become a telephone operator. HELEN MAGOULAS Activities: Latin Club 1, 2, 3; Tattler 2, 3, 4; Circulation Manager 3, 4; Masquers 1, 2, 3, 4; Glee Club 1, 2; Basketball 2, 4; Profile 4: Bowling Club 1; Senior Play 4. Recipe for Magoulas: Mix together an ample quantity of vitamins, ambition, noise and laughter, top off with a mass of flamboyant red hair, and serve with loads of generosity. The delightful result is better known as “Red” and is destined for great things in the profession she has chosen as a teacher of physical education. SUSAN MALINARO Activities: Basketball 1,2; Spanish Club 1, 2. “Susie,” a pretty, little brunette is a swell Senior on whom one can always depend. Po sessor of a warm charm ami a radiant personality, “Susie” is a welcome addition to any class room. “Susie” has quite a flare for art work and after school she can be found ushering at our local theatre. You can he sure that “Susie” will All her future occupation as a clerk in a capable manner. MICHAEL MANARI Activities: Art Club 3, 4. “Mike” is an easy going fellow who is known and liked by all his fellow students. Any class room is enlivened when “Mike” is present and he can be seen frequently working in his father’s store. “Mike” enjoys his arts course and contributes many posters for various activities. Our best wishes will certainly go with “Mike,” when he enters the Army after graduation. 8
