JEAN COWIE Activities: Basketball 1; Field Hockey 1; Cheerleading 2, 3, 4; Bowling 1; Spanish Club 3. A swell girl in every sense of the word, Jean will always be remembered for ber alertness and friendliness. Her excellent cheer-leading technique has added much pep to our school games. Her dancing ability is equally fine. Undecided as yet about the future, we know she will do well in whatever she undertakes. FRANCES DAVIS Activities: Glee Club 3; Spanish Club 3, 4; Art Club 3; Speedball 4. Although Frances is soft spoken and quiet, her warm, friendly smile is more eloquent than words. Frances enjoys skating, swimming and coloring photographs. She plans to go to Katherine Gibbs Business School and train to be a private secretary. With her well-groomed appearance, efficiency and willingness Frances will make an excellent student and a successful secretary. GLORIA COYLE Activities: Glee Club 3. Gloria or “Glit as she is known to her friends is small, pert and full of fun. This girl from Glen-wood Landing likes to take pictures, dance and watch sport games. Gloria will go to business school after finishing high school. Her many assets are sure to make her dream of becoming a private secretary come true. JOSEPH DAILY Everybody knows Joe. He's that happy, devil-may-care fellow, who contributes wit and droll humor to the halls of dear old Glen Cove High. Tall, blond and good looking, Joe ought to make a grand appearance in his dungarees and straw hat when he dons them to become a raiser of livestock, (rood luck with “all them thar longhorns, Joe! ALLEN DANIS Activities: Football 2; Frerfch Club 2, 3. Allen is a very energetic, lad who enjoys his life to the highest degree. His existence can be compared somewhat to the free-lance artist, who chooses his subject as he pleases, and does what he pleases. His frequent clashes with teachers liven up many otherwise dull classes. He is often seen touring the town in his famous “limousine. After graduation, he plans on joining the Marines. 18

GLORIA CHERUBINI Activities: Latin Club 2, 3, 4; Spanish Club 3, 4: Tattler 2, 3, 4; Safety Council 4; Masquers 2, 3, 4; Senior Play 4. Gloria, also known as “Dot” is that senior with the lovely black hair. Her jocular manner ami ready wit are well enjoyed by all. As a hobby, Gloria collects miniature china pigs and her collection is now wide and varied. Writing short stories for her own amusement and also that of her friends is a favorite pastime. When she graduates Gloria would like to enter into the field of radio and with her willingness to get things done we are sure she will be very successful. BARBARA CIAVARELLI Activities: Latin Club 2. 3, 4; Spanish Club 3, 4; Safety Council 4; Secretary of Home Room 3. Barbara is a petite girl and a real lady in every sense of the word. Soft-spoken and well-mannered, Barbara is musically inclined. Playing the piano is her favorite pastime. Her diligence and pleasant character have proved that she will be successful in whatever she undertakes. Barbara loves to travel and after graduation will have the chance to do so. She is going on a trip, with her family to South America and will remain there for some time. Good luck to you on your future travels. W ALTER CIENKOWSKI Activities: Football 3,4; Spanish (dub 2, 3; Alpha 3, 4; Senior Play 4. “Puff” is not, as the name implies a bag o' wind but is instead the name given him by his school chums. Puff is friendly and well liked by both his classmates and his teachers. Walter is the kind of guy one likes to talk to and the kind of fellow one likes for a friend. W hat more can be expected of him than that he should become an engineer in the future since one with PuflTs personality will overcome all engineering problems. ANNE CHEBUSKE Activities: Commercial Club 2; Glee Club 4; Photography Club 4; Arts and Crafts (dub 1. Naive and very quiet, Anne is always willing to lend a helping hand. Her interests are varied and numerous centering largely upon sewing and knitting. Very skillful in this line, Anne has made a great many of her clothes. Although Anne’s future is undecided we are certain that her knowledge and skill in sewing will play an im-poitant part in it. FRANCES CONOLOGUE Activities: French (dub 2, 3, 4; Latin (dub 1, 2; Glee (dub 3. “Fran” is a peppy, well dressed Senior with an optimistic personality and a likeable disposition—all of which help make her as popular as she is. Going to the beach, dancing, ice skating, and attending football games take up most of Franny’s time after school. She definitely dislikes conceited people and homework. Frances wants to be a kindergarten teacher. 17

DORA DEL COLLE Activities: Tennis 1; Field Hockey 1; Baseball 1, 2; Bowling 1. Her laughter and her friendliness are two of Dora’s most predominant qualities. She is a whiz at all sports and very often has won die game for her team in volley-hall. Bowling however is her favorite pastime, and she plays it frequently. After school she plans to become a beautician. WILLIAM DONALDSON Activities: Varsity Football 1, 2, 3, 4; Latin Club 1, 2; Track; President of Senior Class ’46. Bill, who comes from the Glen Cove Landing, is an outdoor sports lover. Although he enters into these sports with great enthusiasm, his interest in school work is not retarded, as is proved by his high scholastic standing. William Donaldson’s respect toward others is one of his most outstanding characteristics. His easy, happy-go-lucky spirit has made him well liked by everyone. His tact and wholesomeness has given him popularity that made him president of the Senior Class. HELEN DONOVAN Activities: French Club 3; Glee Club 2, 3. Helen can usually he found wherever “Beep” is. Atractive and well-groomed, she was voted the best dressed girl in the Senior class. Helen came to Glen Cove High in her Sophomore year from St. Dominies’ and likes it very much. She excels in dancing and roller-skating. Helen’s ambition is to become an interior decorator. JULIET DeCAROLIS Activities: Spanish Club 3, 4. Very generous and always willing to lend a helping hand, Juliet is popular among her classmates. Her witty sense of humor is welcomed to any group. Although she has not participated in many activities, her interests are varied and many. She is an ardent fan of all sports especially softball. Upon graduating, Juliet plans to enter business school. IRENE DORAN Activities: Commercial Club 1, 2, 3, 4; Glee Club 1, 2, 3; Senior Executive Committee 4; Tattler 2, 3, 4; Masquers Club 2, 3, 4; Secretary, Treasurer 4; Photography Club 3, 4; Transcription Staff, Pro-FfLE 4; Senior Nominating Committee 4; Bowling Club 1. Cute and full of fun Irene always has a pleasant smile and word for everyone. Nothing ever seems to worry this popular and well-liked senior. Being a member of the executive committee, she has had a great deal to do with the success of our class. Irene’s ambition is to become a writer of short stories for magazines. Her leisure time is spent in dancing and taking and developing her own pictures. 0
