Lunchroom Manager 12 'E CLASS HISTCRY War was declared on September 7 1952 when our company boarded the U S S Freshmen and set sa1l Our objectwe was Semor C1ty l cated strateg1cally 1n the country of Intelllgence The commanders Ad mlrals Dav1s and Jameson gu1ded us w1th assurance through our year at sea Three lmportant battles were the encounters w1th Lat1n General Sc1ence and Algebra Although new and mnexperlenced we ended the year w1th few casual1t1es lnSeptember 1953 we landed on Sophomore Beach Here we changed one commander We were now under the watchful eye of Adm1rals Dav1s and Bloss As we bombed the beach we met w1th much oppos1t1on gwen us by the enemy B1OlOgY We suc ceeded however and took the beach After a lull of three months w rearmed ourselves and stormed Jun lor Mountam wh1ch was to be the turnmg polnt of the 1nvas1on Strug ghng hard under the leadersh1p of our Admlrals Cole and Bloss we met many hardshlps when powerful C he m1 s trv and Geometry over whelmed us Rega1n1ng from these attacks we resumed our chmb and succeeded 1n takmg the mounta1n wh1ch ove rlooked be aut1ful Semor C1ty It was dur1ng th1s year that the troop ahead of us and a few of our company won the r1ght to go to the Olymprc Basketball Games Held 1n Lex1ngton the game left many 1n awe It was he re that we almost pul led the sensat1on of the year when we nearly defeated Hazard the team wh1ch won the event On Apr1l ZZ we prepared a d1nner for our super1ors to celebrate the reach1ng of the1r goal We paused here for three months prepar1ng ourselves for the f1nal battle On September 7 1955 we once agam took up our arms and trudged toward Senlor Cxty under the gu1d ance of our commandmg off1cers Admlrals Dav1s and Sm1th Today we feel certa1n that we shall reach our dest1nat1on We now look for ward to the annual feast g1ven us by our 1nfer1ors As our term of ser v1ce draws near we can v1sual1ze our medals honors and all that goes w1th graduat1ng For some of us the war 15 over For others lt has just begun All of us w1ll remember our four years 1n the Glasgow H1gh School D1v1s1on and we express our grat1tude and s1ncer1ty to those who made It poss1ble for us to ga1nh1gher morals and standards HISTORIANS -ff WMU Qm6 ,Deals ymkyr 9 9 .. . . . . . . , O - . 9 . , ' .
