Not only that I learned about you and your country, but I also learned about myself. 1 already know pretty much about the HAmer1ean way of lifen as my mother has been a A.F.S. student, too, but what I found most striking was the friendliness of the people I met and how easy it is to get along with them, K because everywhere lr the world people do the same things, but they do them differently.l 1 enjoyed going to Glasgow High. What I liked particularly is that you have so much opportunity to learn different things, practical courses and sports as well as academic ones. In Germany's High Schools you hard- ly can't choose anything at all exept for the last two grades. I want to thank you all for having helped to make this a great year for me. For the faculty staff, I would like to mention Mr. Hoosty, my advisor for helping me to choose land dropl the right courses. He did a great job and so aid the other teachers 1've nad. Hope to see you again. Yours , ,W 14.4.1 iw R1 I am Minerva Moreno but my nickname is Guagua Cvlavlaj. I am from Concepcion, Chile, that is in South America. when I first learned that I was coming to Delaware, I couldn't find the state on my map in school. I was very frightened but in the mail I received infomation of my new family fthe Georgov'sD and my new school! In Chile my school is very different from Glasgow. First of all I live in the Southern Hemisphere, this means I go to school from March to December. In my school in Chile we have nine classes and we go home for lunch-I go from 8:00 to 5:30. All my classes at home are all year but my schedule rotates. One of the things I like about Glasgow is the freedom of choosing some of the classes. The teachers here are much more friendlier and interested in the students. Here we have so many more clubs and after school activities, and I feel with all these activities you can make more friends. In Glasgow there is more material and resources. I can't really say which school system I prefer because in Chile we learn about a lot of different subjects. Here we have less subjects but spend much more time in learning everything one can about that certain subject. I feel that each country has a school system to suit it needs. There are so many people that I could thank for making my year so enjoyable...so I would just like to say thank-you everyone! Anytime you are visiting Chile, please come by!!! Love, ..M1..1t.z thum' M- e yt? Kaj GuaGua AFS year 120
