FAREWELL Four years ago 45 freshmen entered Gladstone- Oquawka High School detemmined to meet the hard knocks of undercl assmen. We had two parties this year, one a freshman get together at South Henderson and the other at Sandy's Roller Rink at Burlington. In May we saw the Seniors graduate and knew that we would someday do the same, we hoped. In August we were glad school had started, though we complained. This year we were big wheels, being over the freshmen. We soon found out that we were not so big with two other classes over us. We had two parties this year, both at Sandy's Rink. Summer vacation is here again! School again, but we were glad. This year we were juniors and had to start making money for some of the hard earned money. Boy! What happened to that school year? Ahh, Seniors at last. It sure is not much different than the last three years. This year we really are going to have to work if we are going on a trip. We have dances, bakesales, carwashes, and a chili supper. This year we don't have to have any Prom for the upperclassf men, some money saved. Gee! What happened to the last four years? They sure went fast. In closing we, the Senior Class of 1955-56, wish to express our sincere gratitude to the teachers of Gladstone-Oquawka High School for their help and understanding for the past four years. We leave to the classes remaining, our best wishes and hope they will have as many good times as we did. As we pass through the doors of G 81 O for the last time as students, we bid a fond farewell to the past and hope the future may be as pleasant. the Senior Trip, which all seniors take at the end of the year. We had a play, bakesales, and even two dances. This year we had a Prom for the seniors at the high school gvm. there goes 41? 4 1- .--- - I, Ii r it r --f u a liz: gi u X x G -'S' , it xv! yblfllgu I , f 'T' if if it 1 'T' 5 ll X 4 l H.
