OUR NEW SCHOOL At long last we are goIng to have a school of our own' As rumors have It the site may be Humboldt Park facing North Parade but the Board of EducatIon would first have to receive from the Common Councul the piece of park that wIll be used for that purpose Although the Board of Education has approved the Idea and the site It IS now up to the Common Council to okay the plans and to allo ate the funds The estimated cost of the new building IS Sl 9OO OOO and of the equipment S250 OOO The school hopes to have twenty fIve rooms which will Include classrooms study halls and a social room for teas parties and receptions In addItIon to this there will b a spacious lIbrary an audItorIum with a capac ty for IZOO to l5OO and a cafetena with a show cases will be so conspIcuously Installed that they Wll be viewed by overyone There will also be an audItorIum dressing room together wIth Improved stage lighting better lighting In rooms and facilities for visual education With regard to the courses present courses wIll b Improved a great deal and courses will be added to prepare for occupations for which traInIng can be gIven For Instance practIcal nursing will probably be added for there IS a great demand for Practical nurses In the business field legal secretarial work and banking wIll be added lt s a matter of great satnsfactvon to all of us who are teachers students or alumnI that the cIty of Buffalo has awakened to the need for supplyIng as fine vocational education opportunItIes for girls as are offered to boys oann Godfrey to seating arrangement for 600, lf funds are available there will be a swimming pool and .
