BOARD OF EDUCATION We, the members of the 1965-1966 Trojan staff, take pride in dedicating this yearbook to the members of the Board of Education of Girard Rural High School. Although the school board meets once a month, Superintendent Taylor outlines all plans for their meetings and supervises all of the work the board plans. Mr. Taylor has worked diligently with the Board of Education for twenty-seven years. New facilities were badly needed after the disasterous fire on October 25, 1964. The members of the Board of Education did much to inform the public of the need for desirable educational facilities. Due to their work, the people of the area passed the bond issues in order to make the 31,275,000 building program possible. The members of the board include the following: Robert Burns, pres., 1 year, member, 11 years, Dr. R. V. Haderlein, pres. , 7 years, member, 11 years, Kenneth Evans, member, 11 years, Carl Mathis, member, 3 years, Robert Pyle, member, 3 years, Jesse Mitchell, member, 7 years, Mildred O. Oles, clerk, 25 years, and Sandra Oplotnik, assistant clerk, 5 years. 1 We-Wish to express our sincere appreciation to these people who have done so much and received so little for themselves in return. To the 1966 Staff of the Trojan: We wish to congratulate you on the fine work which you have done on the 1966 Trojan. We know that it will be appreciated by all who receive it and through the years it will serve to arouse memories of school exper- iences of 1966. This Trojan issue will make history in as much as after July 1, 1966, Girard Rural High School will pass into history and Girard Unified District 5248 High School will come into being. We are proud of the past and should look forward to the future with great expectations, Congratulations and Good Wishes. 6' Q"' mu Ted R. Taylor, Supt. To the 1966 Student Body: Congratulations to you for all of your fine accom- plishments. As you get ready to face the World be confident. Opportunities are unlimited for those of you with training and stamina to do the job you set out to do. Develop a sound philosophy of life based upon religion, morals, ethics, and love of country and you will be able to make sound decisions. If we can ever be of service to you call upon us. Thanks for your cooperation and best wishes for a good life ahead. 7 1 i 717 , L Robert Wolff To the Students of Girard Rural High School: Congratulations to the Seniors of 1966! I am very happy that I was given the opportunity to offer my congratulations to the Seniors and also to all underclassmen for their fine spirit and cooperation in the 1965 and 1966 school year. Your attitude has been wonderful and has contributed a great deal to the completion of another school year. May all of your endeavors throughout life be as successful as this year.
