' HlSTORY OF THE CLASS OF I946 Typically freshmen during our first year in high school, we achieved the title The Service Class . To earn this title We picked tomatoes, sold singing valentines, and con- tributed to many worthy causes. We did this under the leadership of Dushan f Dude y Dick j Angius. Handicapped during our second year by the absence of our president, Keith Hadley, we won recognition, nevertheless, for the best record in bond selling. We also gave the first basketball dance, and a St. Patrick's Dance. . Led by Russell McJunkin, Jr., during our third year, we gave a Halloween Masque- rade Ball, several basketball dances, and, finally, the Junior-Senior Prom, the novel theme of which was the Redwood Forest . A Scholastically the class won distinction this year by four members being awarded membership in the C. S. F., three of them also being elected officers of that organization. Dude Angius, presidentg Ben Clark, vice-president, Gail Grodhaus, Secretary-treasurer. In sports, Bill Richardson was co-captain of the Varsity Basketball team and Dude, Angius was co-captain of the 30's .

Under the leadership of our president, Jack'Angius, we sponsored a successful dance. ' Our next project was participation in the Fourth War Loan Drive. We rank- ed second in the school in the bond selling campaign. qui- class diminished in the second ye ar of high school-there were 39 boys and 36 gir s. This year we planned a Winter Festival Ball, enlivened by something new-an intermission program, which furnished gaiety and entertainment. Class emblems, designed by Phil Lawton, were purchased by a majority of the members of the class.
