Tuck Meister escorted by Sidney Henson, Billy Mc- GILMER 34 WINNSBORO 6 Winnsboro tossed an opening scare into Gilmer when Swann returned the opening kickoff to the Z5 where he was caught from behind by Phil Maywald. This was just about all Winnsboro did all night. Tuck Meister scored the Buckeyes first touchdown on a Z0 yard run. Wendell Duke scored on a 61 yard run before the first quarter ended. Meister scored again from the oneg later he passed to Duke for a touchdown. Ronald Johns scored on a pass from Fielden with less than 30 seconds in the game. Demon Johns scored his second touchdown of the game on a 50 yard run. Fielden scored the final touchdown of the game. Outstanding players on defense were Berry, Carroll, and Pittmon. Bubba Johns catches Fielden's pass for 6 against Mt. Pleasant. GILMER Z6 MT. PLEASANT 6 The Buckeyes armed with runner Mack Lay and Quarterback Jerry Fielden defeated Mt. Pleasant and proved they could win when it wasn't raining. Lay scored in the lst quarter on a. short run. In the last seconds of the lst half Bubba Johns caught a pass from Jerry Fielden for another T.D. In the 3rd quarter the Tigers scored. On the kickoff Mack Lay went all the way for atouchdown. He then made the final yards himself. The Buckeyes played an outstanding de- fensive game for the entire game. The outstanding players of defense were Phil Maywald, Billy McBee and Jimrnie Johns.
