lo Work vs. Fun, which one wins? How often did our teachers assign loads of homework on weekends or on special nights? We started the day fantasizing of our date with the dream g we went through each class in a daze, wondering how the night would turn out. The day went by slowly, but finally 'Ith hour arrived. Ten seconds 'til thebell... 9 8 'I 6 . . . 5 Oh, class. No! The teacher wrote something on the board. What was it? Read pages 2 4-4 4 in the literature book and answer questions l - 20 on page 45? No! Not to- night! My date! How could she?! The date went fine, but the homework didn't get done, and that is where the excuse came in. You had to think up the perfect excuseg one that was original, which your teacher never used or ever heard, and most of all very believable. A tragic event or emergency would always do the trick, so you thought hard and realized that your only chances were: an origi- nal excuse or a very gullible teacher!! Katalina Fifita took time out to smile between classes. Kevin Fike cheered up quickly as soon as he heard the bell for lunch. 4 Opening Rn
