GQSJ jjI'0!0 QCYI 1973 GQJJ Weunzbzz We're on our way to our class reunion. Why don 't you join us? We're having it at Disneyland, thanks to Joe Garcia, the new President. He just replaced Walt Disney who died of a heart attack. Here's Joe now, with his faithful bookkeeper, Brenda Haws. She was Mr. Reese's pride and joy. Here's Jenny Tapia, too. She's our official Disneyland guide. She fell in love with the place and refuses to leave the grounds. She sleeps in the Swiss Family Robinson tree house every night There's the band over in the Plaza, but they sound more like a race track. No wonderl There's Mike Hymas playing his coronet. Look out for the fire wagonl Chief Jimmy Gilchrist is on his way to put out Mrs. Warren 's fire. Anyone for cotton candy or candy apples? Bill Van Kirk is here with his little push cart trying to sell them. He needs mad money. There's KQE4NavarroBin the recording booth of the record store. They say she 's been in there for 10 days cutting records like a fiend. She 's been misled about her singing. She thinks she's great! Here we are in Tomorrowland. The rocket is getting ready to take off for the moon. Joanne Bahr, the hostess, is making the passengers comfortable. She even peels their bananas for them. On the last trip Philip Marsh brought back '7 "Moon Birds" and now he's trying to teach them to talk. For scientific purposes he says. Here comes the monorail. Alicia Navarette is driving. She always loved to play with cars. What on earth? Why it's Carolyn Mauch. She 's hanging from the monorail window. I think she was leaning out too far. She fell, and right into the lake for the Submarine Ride. Maybe she 'll scare out Francis Madril, the mermaid, and we'll get to say "hi" to her. Francis is the shy type. She doesn 't even come up for air. X We'd go for a ride on the Autopia but it 's being repaired. Reckless EIQTQROQ ran off the over-pass and killed Sammy Ong, a Mousketeer, who was dancing for the people. She really wrec e the whole set up. There's the Matterhorn. Fearless Jim Moyers is climbing to the top to rescue Darlene Isch. She's been standing up there on a yodeling marathon. Let 's move on to Fantasyland. There's lla Morrow feeding the swans in the moat. Now over the draw bridge and here we are. There seems to be a commotion of King Arthur's Carrousel. Roxie Miller has been riding for two days, and she won't get off. Seems she's fallen in love with the big black horse. There's Mr. Toad 's Wild Ride and look who 's driving. It's Kelly Brown. His little green car is really moving. Want to go ride on Dumbo the Flying Elephant? Doyle Hargis is going round and round yelling, "Wheel " Everyone out of the way, here comes Alice in Wonderland, Deloris Hill, and she's being chased by the Mad Hatter, Howard Nichols. I don't think he's stopped since '63, Well, with that let's move on to Frontierland. The mule train is just leaving for the mountains. Leonard Lamb can be seen disappearing over the ridge. Something's gone wrong. Leonard 's coming back. He forgot his Cheerios. There's a fight! ' ' ' as a rett oo racket oing. He sells the scalps to Leonard Beebe who in turn sells them to tourists. Well, let's go to the Golden Horse Shoe Saloon for some refreshments. The proprietor, Johnny Higerra, will be happy to see us. First Civilized people in days. If we hurry we can make Niyl,g.I,1QIDO1eaux 's 1 o'clock performanceg she's the feature singer, you know. r the position because of.Qfelia's great dancing, but Ofelia was fired last week because one of the patrons yelled "Take it Off, " and she did. That was a nice rest, but before we leave Frontierland, let's go to Tom Sawyer Island. Malcom Peterson can take us over on his raft, the "Becky Thatcher. " Providing we fork over the fare first. We'll have to hurry if we plan to see all of Adventureland before it gets dark. The electric bill hasn 't been paid so there aren't any lights. We're now on our river Boat the "Jungle Queen, " heading into the treacherous waters of the densest jungles in the world. Our trusty guide, Vickie Fuller, will bring us safely through. We hope. Look! On the right. That huge gorilla is trying to attract our attention. The hairy beast is waving his arms like mad. Why it's Gary Pemberl Look, around the bend ahead. The natives are burning a victim at the stake. Oh, dear. It's Sharon Brafordl We warned her about playing with matches. Something's wrong at the rear of the boat. MAN OVERBOARDI Joe Wisdom just got pushed in by one of his hateful fans, and was eaten by a mechanical alligator before we could rescue him. Oh, Sorrowful tears. On the river bank ahead we see a huge Watusi, Mary Dunlap, selling poisoned arrows, and right across the river from her is Leonard Beebe selling the scalps,Qn,y has collected for him. Leonard is a very good salesman, and reasonable too. If you can 't pay cash, he 'll take your scalp as a trade in. Well, we 're back to civilization again and the dangers of the freeway. If you didn't lose your mother-in-law back there, you missed a golden opportunity. We're sorry Ruth Lemons couldn't be with us for this reunion but after 10 years, she 's quite busy. She had to take care of her five children, and her TV show, "Romper Room School." It 's time to head back home again. It's been nice talking to you. This 1973 class reunion really went off well. The only people we haven 't told you about are ourselves. There's really not much to tell. We couldn 't bear to leave Gilbert, so we 've become permanent members of Mr. Inglis' government class, much to his regret. Well, Bye now - we'll be seeing you around.
