We were most anxlous to see vacat1on come even though we found our ftrst year CXCIIIHQ Forgettmg the few troubles we expertenced as freshmen we eagerly entered our sophomore year Jolmng us at thxs tlme were Lyla Endecott and Helen Hehner Those leavmgwere Lyla Endecott, Darrell Roeder and Robert Slater We enthuslasncally entered our Jumor year and tmmedlately found ourselves ln a wh1r1 of act1v1t1es The .Tumor Play and the .Tumor Semor Prom were the blg moments of the year Jerry Wunder Jomed us III ttme to enjoy the Prom. Gradually we lost Ame11a Anderson Pr1sc1lla Newbold Helen Stunmers Anne Wllson and .Terry Wunder We ga1ly entered our semor year but suffered the loss of Patr1c1a Coon Shlrley Donaldson and .Teame Torske Iearue later returned to graduate w1th us At last we were at the top Our eyes were conttnually on the fut11re but as we were maklng plans for graduanon our hearts were saddened wtth the thoughts of betng separated from our classmates w1th whom we had shared our secrets our joys and our heartaches We also dreaded the thought of leavmg our teachers who have played such an tmportant part tn moldmg our lwes But most of all we were sorry because we would no longer be a part of dear old Glbbon Hlgh Wtth the completton of these years and the fun we have shared the Semors of 1958 bxd all of you a farewell mm M lwsq Sl' QQ- '34 9 'NJA A ' s 0? C ass One bright September mormng in 1945 we f1nd twenty seven shy youngsters gathering on the school steps To them th1S was the biggest event of the year They had now reached that ripe old age of five which entitled them to beg1n the biggest step in their lives After each had found a chaxr in the small kindergarten room Mrs Beltzer called the roll Roll included Alta Albin James Anderson Erick Ashburn John Baxter Sharon Clark,BarbaraCl1ne,Iohn Deming Lorraine DeBr1e Shlrley Donaldson Bradley Dwiggms Thomas Edmonds Rose Garcia Thats Guthrie Nancy Guthrie LeeDel Howard Robert Kaps ArturoMart1nez Colleen Mathews Patricia Patter son Jane Power John Power Steven Odell Donna Schnase Roberto Vasquez Jean Walker Sandra Webb and Barbara Wiebold From this enjoyable year we passed to the next Mrs Wrede now had the pleasure of trying to tram our yound m1nds and sprawling group By now we had dropped John Baxter John Deming LeeDel Howard Robert Kaps and Roberto Vasquez and added James Cline and Patr1c1a Coon. This gave us a group of twenty four Mrs Wrede gladly passed us on to M1ss Kay D1er who accepted us but not with haste. By this time we had bade farewell to Thomas Edmonds and Colleen Mathews and welcomed Barbara Roberson Nancy Kennell James McPeck and Jams Rasmussen Th1S gave us a total of twenty six Miss Chramosta was the next to be favored with our presence To get our group of twenty eight we gained Franc1s Figueroa Margene Myers Carolyn Torske Geraldine Lathan Sh.1r1eyRoos, Anne Wilson Ronald Daily and David Castaneda To match this gain we lost Erick Ashburn Jane Power John Power Barbara Roberson Nancy Kennell and James McPeck Our years were passing fast and we were now fourth graders Mrs Bosse was our next victim This year we lost Barbara Cline James Cline, Ronald Daily and David Castaneda and were favored with Roger Gorman s entrance leaving us twenty five students The fifth grade was speclal because the room was on the second floor We found that those added Haggeman. From this position she watched Ronald Daily David Castaneda Tw1la Sickler Barbara Cline and James Cline climb the sta1rs for the f1rst time and watched Roger Gorman descend the stairs for the last time Mrs Ice was at the door to welcome twenty eight into the sixth grade but we left with only twenty six We arrived at the number by losing Francis Figueroa Geraldine Lathan Sandra Webb Ronald Daily and Twila Stckler and gairung Sonya Aldrich Howard Brayton and Thomas Darling Our seventh grade was the most mixed up of them all We had three teachers tlus year beginning with Mr McCal1ester and end1ng w1th Mr Bell Along w1th the teachers we lost Howard Brayton, Steven Odell and Patricia Patterson and ga1ned Ronald Goesch Marie Koztsek Jane Power John Power and Donald Carpenter This left twenty eight in our class Twenty seven bright eyed grown up men and women f1n1shed their last year of grade school To share our enthuslasm we f1nd James Stearley and Leonard Kubik but lost David Castaneda Ronald Goesch and Barbara Wtebold We owe much to Mrs Zlmmerman for the gutdance she gave us in preparing for high school With the memories of those we lost and for the honor of those we gained we awaited the following years Contrary to the entrance into kindergarten eight years ago the twenty seven shy youngsters have increased in number to forty one and are now self confident mature individuals They include from the eighth grade Alta Albln Sonya Aldrich James Anderson Donald Carpenter Sharon Clark Barbara Cllne James Cline Patr1c1aCoon Thomas Darling Lorra1neDeBr1e Shirley Donaldson Bradley Dwiggins Rose Garcia Nancy Guthrie Thats Guthrie Mane Kozlsek Arturo Martinez Margene Myers Jane Power stairs didn't help our grades any, though. Waiting at the top of the stairs each morning we found Miss

She certarnly looks famlllar Sure that s Thals Guthrlel Wonder what she s dO1Ilg now I ll have to ask her about our old graduaung class she s just the person who d knowl The sudden blast of applause brought Art back to h1s sense and he Jomed 1n wlth much vlgor He watched Thals as she made her ex1t to make sure he wouldn t m1ss her When they met she recogmzed h1m lnstantly After Thais had talked for several hours the conversat1on fmally got around to the Semors of 1958 And just as Art thought Thals knew all about them. BRAD DWIGGINS one of the keepers at the Natlonal Zoo was almost swallowed by a large pehcan. It IS sa1d that Brad would have suffered a fate snmlar to that of Jonah had tt not been for hls large feet whlch the b1rd was unable to get lll 1ts mouth ROSE GARCIA has Jotned SHIRLEY ROOS'S S1de Show SDSCISIIY whlch 1S now travelmg wxth Rmglmg Brothers Circus Rose lS known as the world s most famous tattooed lady JERRY MURR has takenSteve Allen s place as acomedxan. He began h1s career on the Semor Tr1p ALFONSO DELGADO IS an elevator operator Ln a one story bulldmg BOB O'NEILL IS a slave aucnoneer HIS latest v1ct1ms were LOIS CATLIN and MARGENE MYERS whom he sold to GUY CURE Guy needed some extra help on hls worm farm.
