CLASS HISTORY fCont.l We had garned frve students who were Earl Cushman Glen DeBr1e Iohn DeBr1e Mary lane Nutter and Loulse Wolfe Grade school was very excrtmg but we were anxxous to enter hxgh school Our teachers durmg grade school days were Mlss OQ1l1Ve Mxss Woolworth Mxss Larson Mxss Cook Mlss Mercer M1SSlOhnSOH MISS Ntttgow and Mrs Zxmmerman We f1nally entered hrgh school under our own power and found that we had galned thrrteen members and there were ntneten from prevrous years The new students were Ioyce Applegate Paul Frmk Mari Ellen Gallup Marcla Gangwrsh Rose Mane Gormley Chrlsttna MCKeon Gwen dolyn Monson Gene Nutter Rrchard Nutter Byron Peters Loutse Bxpp Merl1n Schmrdt and Glen Peters Class offrcers that year were Pres1dent Bob Vohland VICG Pres1dent Iohn DeBr1e Secretary and Treasurer Luc1lle Kelly Sponsor Mr Enevoldsen After we had reached the tenth grade we all agreed that 1t was better to look down on the freshmen than to be looked down upon as a freshman Our class sponsor that year was Mlss Sm1tth We had an ICG skatmg party out to ye ole sandplt None of the gxrls knew how to skate that nlght so they had several of the hard falls of lxfe The boys used to hold glrls up but now 1t 1S vrce versa Class offrcers that year were Prestdent Bob Vohland Vzce Pres1dent Nancy Petersen Secretary and Treasurer Man Ellen Gallup It really was a thrrll for us to be called Iunxors Now we only had one class to look up to and that was the Sen1ors a class of f1fteen and we had them outnumbered by fourteen Mrs Klme and Mlss Spellman were our sponsors We had qulte a busy year We put on the lunror class play Brother Goose gave a Iun1orSen1or Banquet and bought Mrs Klme a coffee table for a farewell present fwhrch nearly broke the Iumor boysll Class offrcers for our Iumor year were Pres1dent Byron Peters V1C9 Pres1dent Vernon Hawke Secretary and Treasurer Marr Ellen Gallup Twenty-erght proud Sen1ors entered the twelfth grade They were Ioyce Applegate Margaret Bosse I1m Cousxns Iohn DeBr1e Marr Ellen Gallup Marc1a Gangwlsh Rose Marle Gormley Byron Harvey Vernon Hawke DeWayne Hemmerllng Delbert Iohnson Luc1lle Kelly Iames Krrk Howard Maddox Gwendolyn Monson Chrrstma McKeon Gene Nutter Rrchard Nutter Byron Peters Nancy Peterson Royal Power Glor1a Sargent MGUIICG Weller and Bob Yockey We recerved our rmgs a month before school started and th1s took our spendmg money so we had to mooch from the Iunlors for the rest of the year We ordered our announcements and name cards and had our pxctures taken at the Leschlnsky Stucllo ln Grand Island Our Senror Play was a great success and a great amount of talent was shown at that trme The Iumors gave us a very beautlful nrght club banquet after Wh1Ch we all went home feelmg that the Iunxors were fxne hosts Sneak Day came and we surprrsed everyone wrth our secretlve rnstabrhty The Iun1orSen1or Hunt followed 1n the tradltlon of Glbbon Hlgh It was great fun outwrttmg the Iumors 22 I . 1 1 , I 1 1 1 1 . 1 1 , , 1 . .
