Lefs G0 Redcoals This year's Freshmen Baseball Team, coached by Mr. Miller, had a record of 6 and 7. They beat Bourgade and Dysart in both games and split with Globe and Mingus. Besides captains Rob Bowen and Steve Gore, the members of this persistent team are Jim Corco- ran, Dennis Kmetko, Ron Safcik, Troy Garcia, Jason Baker, Tim Carlson, Mark Stewart, Joe Knapp, Scott Watson, Brian Dur- kin, Roy Garcia, Dave Carroll, Greg Romero and Bill Byrnes. Carey Hyler Suzy Gilb - I B. J. Krystek This year in track everyone did an outstanding job. Monica Jullian, a senior, set a school record. She placed lst in division for shotput and second in her division for discus. Monica went to State and took second place in the shotput. Our 1600 meter girls' relay team - Carol Mitchel, Natalie King, Carol Hahn and Carey Hyler - placed 4th in the Divisional Meet and placed in the State Meet. The 400 meter relay team - Carol Mitchell, Natalie King, Suzy Gilb and Karen Holland - placed second in the Divisional Meet. Natalie King ran the 100 and 200 meter and placed 4th in the Divisionals and qualified for State. Carey Hyler placed 2nd in the Divisional Meet in the longjumpg she also qualified for State. Sharon Kenney, a senior, took 3rd place in the Divisionals in long jump and qualified for State. The boys' 400 meter and 1600 meter relay team did well also. The relay team consisted of four runners - Paul Briel, B. J. Krystek, Joe Gaudio and Brian Hughes. They qualified 3rd in their division and placed in State. Brian Hughes placed 4th in the long jump at the Divisionals. Paul Briel placed 4th in the Divisionals in the 400 meter and finished third in State. With so many outstanding members in all areas returning next year, Coach Relph feels, We have a very good team and prospects for the future. at Q 1
