The team listens as Coach Dreffs plans the next attack. The Junior Varsity Volleyball Team had an overall record of 6 wins and 8 losses. The team, however, put forth a supreme effort each game, and most of the matches were close. The team developed good skills, which will benefit them in the future. Coach Dreffs spent long hours with the team and feels they will have a good season next year. 2

This year's Varsity Volleyball Team finished with a record of 8-7 for the year in their matches and in third place in the division standings. The girls worked hard all season and made a great deal of improvement as they progressed. Out- standing team performances were turned in against division opponents, Gilbert and Corona del Sol, resulting in impressive victories over those two teams. Receiving recognition for their perfor- mance during the season were Carey Hyler, Bridgette Moya and Denise Cal- cagno, who were voted to the Second Team All-Division Squad by the Confer- ence Coaches. Receiving All-Division Honorable Mention Awards were Karen Knudsen and Lisa Jankovsky. efif s ,fy Our team this ear worked hard but unfortunatel we Y 1 Y, 't finish the way we had planned. Players hoo! for Achievements First Rowi Julie Falconer, Suzie Gilb, Rodi Vehr, Janet Watson, Second Row: Patty Delulia, Misty Estes, Coach Drefls, Natalie King, Kara Latin. 4. Natalie outruns Mingus' defense. 5. Donna scores two. The J.V. Girls Basketball Team had an overall record of 5 and 9. They worked hard every game, not just one or two. Even though they lost in double overtime in the games against Mingus and Globe, they made the opposing teams work for their wins. The team also had a special closeness and each looked out for the other. Throughout the season, they helped each other to try and reach their full potential. The team was coached by Jan Dreffs, who stat- ed that the team hustled and worked hard all year.
