Redcoals Persevere The Football season was a hard one for the Varsity Team to endure and persevere through, yet they did. lt was a learning experience . . . l was proud that nobody quit. - Bill Gore The Gerard '81-'82 Varsity Foot- ball Team was a tribute to the true Gerard spirit- the spirit of pride. A winning record was not so much an indication of this pride as the aggres- sive and positive attitude exerted ev- ery game. The team suffered key injuries this year, and played teams that were much larger in number and in size, yet, they gave each team a good fight. It is said that a crisis pulls a family toether, and this season helped bind the Gerard Family in unity. The team had a record of 1-8-1. They tied Peoria 6-6, and, in a thrilling Home- coming game, they tarred the feath- ers of the Bourgade Eagles with a 10- 0 victory! clog, ,,f 1' A.
