National Honor Society is moderated by Sister Laurent this year, as it has been for many years in the past. Sophomore, junior and senior students with cummulative grade point aver- ages of 3.6 or higher are eligible to be in NHS. The faculty committee selects the members who are rated on leadership, service, scholarship, and character. NHS had a good year and had many active members. l0l

The goal of the band is to perform on as professional a level as possible with the personnel available. With Mr. White as mod- erator, our games are well supported by the band. The band plays at all home football and basketball games. They also present one to three concerts per year. The band performs at all pep rallies as well as at the awards assembly. Mr. White hope- fully states, We would eventually like to go to the Band Day at A.S.U. and U. of A. if we can get enough members. I consider everyone who joins the band to be an outstanding member, although none proved to be more outstanding than another. The motto of the band has been, The Few, the Proud, the Band adopted from the Marine Corps. 103
