The staff was moderated by Fr. Lu- kan, and Guy Lucas was this year's editor. Issues usual- ly coincide with the following annual events: Freshmen Initiation, Homecoming, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentines Day, Easter and Graduation. Since there aren't any Journalism classes offered at Gerard, all work done on the paper is done outside the regular school schedule. The staff is composed of stu- dents from all four grades. Some receive a credit in Journalism, and others are on a non-credit program. The Newspaper tries to keep the students, as well as the parents, informed about the education, religious, athletic, social, and cultural activities currently on the campus. l. Susan adds the finishing touch on John's work. 2. Suzanne, Derek, and Guy discuss their next assignments. 3. The Newspaper Staff often works together to catch all ofthe current news. 4. Who? What? National Honor Society is moderated by Sister Laurent this year, as it has been for many years in the past. Sophomore, junior and senior students with cummulative grade point aver- ages of 3.6 or higher are eligible to be in NHS. The faculty committee selects the members who are rated on leadership, service, scholarship, and character. NHS had a good year and had many active members. l0l
