'i 91 The Drama Club started off with a bang this year-one of the actors shot himself in the ciub's production of All My Sons, the play which the club produced in November this year. The director, Brad Hoover, selected this drama be- cause of a desire by the students to try to stretch their act- ing wings, so to speak. The fledgling actors put their talents to work in what was described as the best drama produc- tion people had seen at Gerard in years. Because of other obligations, Mr. Hoover had to leave, and moderation of the club was assumed by the wrestling coach, Louie Mallet, who has had experience with drama before. The cIub's officers, President John Svetlik, Vice-President Jim Relph, Secretary Julie Allen, and Treasurer Harry Bartel have put their efforts into giving the members an opportu- nity to learn the ins and outs of producing a play in a stable, but fun atmosphere. As one member put it, There's noth- ing like being out on stage with the lights shining down, and playing the part the way you want to. Drama gives me a chance to show off. Margaret and John hamming it up. l'm a cowgirl at heart.
