Bishop lnspires Pride In Redcoats pride in one's family, school, Church and community. lf, on the other hand, pride becomes an assertion of one's independence from divine and human support, we're on a dead-end street and the end awaits us with nothing but disappointment and failure. inevitably we are doomed to being bloodied up by our persistence in believing that we are self-made and self-saved. ' So, as your bishop, l challenge you to make Redcoats Shine With Pride an act of thanksgiving for who and what you are because of God's goodness to you and because He has engaged and continues to engage wonderful people to assist you in constantly trying to become all He has made it possible for you to be. l challenge you, as well, to devote your gifts and the grace God offers you to work toward the strengthening of the family, your school, the Church and the community. I May the Lord accompany you on this venture! Truly, then, the Fledcoats will shine! ' 1
