32 Redcoats Put Trust In God 1. 1 g..m Mrs. Patch is the Junior Religion teacher. I wonder what he's thinking about. .Dm Vince LoFano receives Holy Communion during one of Fr. Anthony's famous foot- ball masses. Religion is best defined as man's attempt to achieve the highest possible good by adjusting his life to the strongest and best power in the universe. This power is called God. We attend Gerard Catholic High School to learn what it means to be a Chris- tian and, more specifically, what it means to be a Catholic. We as students seek spiritual development from the teachers of Gerard through their Religion classes. These teachers are Mrs. Virginia Dertina, Mr. Gary Andorfer, Fr. Al- bert Hoorman, Mrs. Gina Patch, and Fr. Anthony Fracasso. Mrs. Dertina teaches the freshmen. She is also the sponsor for the cheer and pom lines, and is in charge of the cheese drive and the book store. In addition to teaching freshman Religion, Mr. Andorfer is also the moderator of the Yearbook and advisor for Youth For Life. We have a new Religion teacher for the sophomore class, Fr. Hoorman. He is in charge of the Christian Service project of Gerard Catholic. Fr. Hoorman taught at Bourgade before coming to Gerard. Mrs. Patch is another one of those new faces you see around campus. She is the junior Religion teacher. In her spare time she helps coach the volleyball team. Fr. Anthony is the sen- ior Religion teacher here at the school. Father is the chairman of the Religion Department and the school chaplain. Each one of these teachers is a spiritual leader of our school. Mrs. Patch explains a thought paper. ls it an Urban Cowbojf?? No, it's an Urban Padre.
