JV Girls Displa Spmt and Pudc The JV Pom and Cheer lines prac- tice almost year-round. The try outs are in early April. The girls practice every week-day during the summer preparing for camp. Football season and basketball season keep the girls practicing every day until mid- March and then its time for try-outs again. This much practicing takes a lot of dedication and cooperation on the part of each and every girl on the line. Drina Tarrago, JV Cheer Cap- tain, states, We really learn a lot about each other, and become really good friends. It's not easy working with the same people every day fir an entire year, but we learned to work together and we all fzund out that giving in a little' can mean a lot, said JV pom girl Lorri Insalaco. Hard work and unity has paid off for these girls. At camp, the girls took many ry' the outstanding honors, both as individuals and as lines. Camp is one week ry' learning new routines and cheers as well as spirit raising ideas. The girls are almost con- stantly working from 7 am to 9 pm. Camp is a lot of work, but it's sure worth it. We go up as 8 different people, but we come back a line, said Marian Castle, member of JV Pom, and the line unity and individual friendships that are made at camp lastfor the rest of the year, and even longer, added Tessie Daley, JV Cheerleader. 2
