: A ' I ,av Improvement: Key to J.V. Season Improvement and pride glistened as the 78-79 J.V. basketball team faced its opponents. Coach Stone in- stilled a good attitude and confidence in his players. The team started with a first game loss over Peoria bitt rebounded to a win over Dysart in pre-season ac- tion. The games proved to be exciting and the guys showed a lot of spirit. J.V. year always proves to be a learning year and this season gave the roundballers the needed experi- ence in hopes of building a strong Varsity team next year. 60 3 K nv-H X P O6 2

Defensively and ojyensively the team showed great improvement throughout the year. Coach Berges has the team working hard each day after school in hopes of building to- wards a winning season. The young team started with a hot winning streak which carried them through the season to be one of the best Freshmen teams ever at Gerard.
